Canada has played a prominent role in bringing sustainable forest management (SFM) into being and in promoting it as a wise modus operandi both across the country and internationally. Canada has developed and acted upon an innovative framework of criteria and indicators (C&I), a key tool that is now helping to make the practice of SFM a reality.
