Objective:

The purpose of the Canadian Forest Inventory Committee (CFIC) is to reach agreement or make recommendations regarding operational procedures, measurement standards, terminology, as well as data acquisition, handling and reporting.

The membership is comprised of the head administrator of forest inventory for each province and territory and the Canadian Forest Service of Natural Resources Canada. The committee may request that other organizations be represented on it as ex officio non-voting members. The chair is elected on an annual basis. The secretariat is provided by the Canadian Forest Service of Natural Resources Canada.
